Here is a simple step by step guide to setup an ADT hosted email account using the POP3 protocol on Microsoft Outlook XP. Replace entries user@domain.com with the email address provided to you.
- Double click MS Outlook XP icon on the desktop or click Start > Programs > Microsoft Outlook
- Click Email Accounts on the top right
- Under E-mail select Add a new e-mail account and click Next
- Under Server Type select Pop3 and click Next
- Under Internet Email Settings enter the details as follows
User Information:
Your Name: Firstname Lastname
E-mail Address: user@domain.com
Server Information
Incoming Mail Server (POP3): promail.adtworld.net
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): promail.adtworld.net
Logon Information
User Name: user@domain.com
Password: (provided password)
Tick the box Remember password
- Click the More Settings button on the bottom right
- On the Outgoing Servers tab tick the box My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
- Click Ok
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- Click Close
Double Click MS Outlook XP and hit Send/Receive to check your mail.
