Here is a simple step by step guide to setup an ADT hosted email account using the POP3 protocol on Microsoft Outlook Express mail software versions 5 and 6.
Replace entries user@domain.com with the email address provided to you.
- Double click Outlook Express icon on the desktop or click Start à Programs à Outlook Express - Click Add on the top left and select Mail to launch the mail setup wizard - On the Your Name box for Display name type your name e.g. Firstname Lastname and click Next - On the Internet E-mail Address box for E-mail Address type user@domain.com and click Next - On the E-mail Server Name box ensure the incoming mail server type is Pop3 - On the E-mail Server Name box for Incoming mail (Pop3, IMAP ….) type promail.adtworld.net - On the E-mail Server Name box for Outgoing mail (SMTP ….) type promail.adtworld.net - Click Next - On the Internet Mail Logon box for Account Name enter full email address user@domain.com - On the Internet Mail Logon box for Password enter provided password - On the Internet Mail Logon box tick the box Remember Password - Click Next - Click Finish
You are returned to the Mail tab and will see the account promail.adtworld.net created. Inbound mail collection is now configured and a small modification is required for outbound mail
- Double click promail.adtworld.net - On the Servers tab under Outgoing Mail Server tick the box My server requires authentication - Click Apply - Click OK - Click Close
Double Click Outlook Express again and hit Send/Receive to check your mail
